Knowing Self-Aware Leadership
Every week I share an article reflecting on my experiences and observations from the world of work, with reflections from my research and sections from my book.
Each one aims to help you think differently, learn more and develop your self-aware leadership.
There are more than 480 posts to explore, going back to 2018, including weekly reflections, research, podcast transcripts and top takeaways from my conversations with guests. You can browse by category to find the topics that matter most to you.

Podcast
The Knowing Self Knowing Others Podcast
Across one hundred episodes, I talk about self-aware leadership with guests from leadership, coaching, organisational behaviour, psychology, HR and people management, sharing insights, stories and some thought-provoking opinions.
Every conversation explores what self-awareness looks like in practice, and how it shapes the way we lead, work and relate to others.
Every episode is also published as a written transcript on the blog, so you can read the conversation in full if you would rather not listen.

Book
The Self-Awareness Superhighway
Drawn from my doctoral research, The Self-Awareness Superhighway sets out what self-aware leadership is, and the nine essential behaviours of the Self-Aware Leadership Compass.
An Amazon best seller in Occupational and Organisational Psychology and in Business Management and Leadership, it offers practical steps to develop your self-awareness and make the most of feedback from others.
The book takes you on a journey from Departures, through three parts exploring the Compass, to the Arrivals lounge, where you can plan your next steps.

Journal
The Reflections Journal
The companion journal to The Self-Awareness Superhighway, now in its second edition. It gives you space to record your thoughts and experiences, reflect on your hard and relational skills, and recognise your impact on others.
Guided by the nine points of the Self-Aware Leadership Compass, it helps you spot your own patterns and decide what you want to do differently next time.
There is room to doodle, draw and get creative too, so you can use it in whatever way helps you reflect best, whether alongside the book or on its own.

Free 360° quiz
The 360° Quiz
A free mini 360° quiz. Rate yourself against the nine behaviours of the Self-Aware Leadership Compass, then invite up to three colleagues or friends to rate you too.
Your scores combine your own view with the average of theirs, so no individual can be identified. You then decide what to change, and how you want to lead next time.
The quiz is free to use, and each of the nine points is rated on a nine-point scale, from most in disagreement to most in agreement. If you would like richer feedback, you can buy extra rater invitations and ask five or more people to assess you.
