Reports & Reflections
Friday….
Friday 6th March, 2026
It’s Friday once again, and reflecting on the week, it’s been one of moving between two halves. I’ve been involved in meetings, discussions and activities that have taken me from relational matters to technical matters, and back again.
You might remember that the first layer of my definition of self-aware leadership is ‘reflection of your hard and relational skills’, and this week has

It’s Friday again, already! I’ve hardly seen my desk during my 5th week at Maggs Day Centre. I’ve been out of the office a lot this week, visiting, meeting and exploring.
🔹 I visited Malvern for the first time. Did you know that Maggs has a day centre in Malvern open on Tuesdays and Fridays, offering support to our homeless community? I’ll put a link below so you …

It’s been another good week and in the spirit of following Art of Brilliance’s advice, here are 3 good things that happened to me this week.
1️⃣ I went to visit some of our shared houses that are part of our Maggs Accommodation Project, part of Maggs Day Centre. My enduring impression is of houses that are warm, comfortable and welcoming. It was good to chat to one of our residents and hear about …

It’s been another week full of amazing stuff, and time that’s gone far too fast!
My week’s been about external stakeholder engagement, team collaboration and reminding myself why we do what we do.
🔹 I’ve been meeting external funders, learning about the background to trusts and foundations and listening with anticipation to …
Friday 30th January, 2026
I haven’t been very busy on LinkedIn this week. That’s because I’ve been out and about, away from my laptop doing other things.
It’s been a week of new people, new places and new possibilities.
🔹 I visited our Maggs Day Centre services in Worcester and Redditch, meeting staff, service users, volunteers and partners. It was …

It may have started with blue Monday but my week has been far from gloomy!!
It’s been a week of preparation!
🔷It started off with meeting Cate Hemingway to prepare for the Inclusive Decision Making workshop I’m delivering for Gloucestershire VCSE Alliance at the end of March. When we checked, there were only 2 spaces left so …

It’s been a funny old week.
I don’t know about you, but I always find myself heading into the new year with great anticipation about what the 1st January will hold, only to be faced with a day very much like the 31st December. Dark and cold, and requiring thermal socks.
But, in taking my own advice to BMW less and GTR more, this week’s round-up is a celebration of the little wins. ..

It’s been a week of juxtaposition!
🌇 The sense of the old year coming to a close has been palpable, and there’s been a definite feeling of people tying things up and finishing things off. In stark contrast I’ve had the chance to meet new people, go to new places and do new things!
🍽️ On Monday, Ruth, Edward, Peter and I met for a catch up, which we’d never done before, in a delightful cafe bistro I’d never been to before…
Friday 5th December, 2025
This week has been a bucket load of yin and yang that’s really tested my powers of adaptability!
🟨 On Monday I was going to mosey on down to Bristol to check out a job venue.
☯️ But then, I remembered I would be passing by on Thursday, so in the interests of being efficient I decided to put it off until then.
🟨 On Tuesday I bought tickets to an economic development event …

This week has been all about networking, networking, networking – mainly in the tech for good and AI space!!
⭐ The week started with immersion in the Tech4Good South West‘s AI Peer Network, where I discovered that the government has an AI Innovation Hub doing all sorts of interesting things to make accessing past information for future decision-making much quicker and slicker.
Friday 14th November, 2025
It’s been an emotionally and mentally taxing week. The first half consisted of an excellent conference and a very interesting webinar. The second half consisted of 3 (yes THREE!) interviews.
💡 Tuesday’s conference was all about the impact of bullying in the workplace, hosted by the wonderful Nicki Eyre FRSA. Presenters from across the globe talked about the physiological impacts …

Friday again! This one’s pretty sparkly in Cheltenham – in a Guy Fawkes kind of way!
Whats your week been like? Mine has been a week of webinars!
🟡 I joined Gloucestershire VCSE Alliance’s ‘Building an Inclusive Organisation’ session. It followed on from an inclusion conference they’d had.
