I’ve been reflecting on the process to develop my self-awareness questionnaire. It was really exciting reviewing everything I’d learnt about SA through my literature review and transposing it into a questionnaire. It reminded me how interested I am in the subject and how exciting it is to learn.
I’m calling it the SA3Q because it’s built from the three elements of SA in my model: internal, internal-social and external-social. It’s made up of 24 statements that respondents score about themselves and about their manager. Respondents score their agreement or disagreement with the statements.
To complete the questionnaire, respondents really have to think about who they are and who they think their manager is. Getting people to think is a really positive by product of my study. If by asking people to complete my questionnaire it makes them a little more self aware, then that’s a good job, well done!
